Fumie Kumatani, Kenichi Tokoi, et al. - Chao Garden Extended Mix [Chao's Wack-Wack Up&Down the Ground Mix]

sonicmusicmusings:

Could you do the Neutral Chao Garden msuic from SA2? My favorite chao track for sure ^w^

- equiusspaghetti

How about I give you a package deal and do the whole mix? Happy Friday everyone!

This is a huge Chao garden mix, starting off with the lobby theme for races. The first theme is a lilting one with lots of bell like synth sounds. It’s pleasant background music that could go unnoticed if one isn’t paying attention! I like the beat and all of the brightness to it. It slows down and cascades into the Dark Chao garden theme—lots of dissonant synth sounds, and heavy bass drum in the low end. While all of the gardens have the same melodic theme, there are decidedly different moods to all of them! The dark garden has a dissonant, electronic feel, mostly reflecting on Shadow and Eggman’s musical themes than Rouge’s. The paddings get more and more menacing as the track moves forward.

We go upstairs into the Normal Chao garden for the request! This theme is decidedly more light and fun, with a steel drum in the main melody. All of the sounds are bright, and even the percussion is tinny and child like, making it for a very cute feel. There are even some flute sounds and xylophone sounds as well! It’s bright, sunny, and very playful!

The Hero garden has a spacier sound, lots of wide padding and deep acoustic sounds for the bass and low mids. Snaps replace the percussion, with a whistle synth in for the melody. There is the illusion of space, and a nearly floating sort of sound and feel going on with this theme, but it’s also very pleasant! Afterwards is the Chao Kindergarten area, which has another playful feel to it. Lots of bells, and a horn sound providing the bass line. The mix is pretty sparse, with only one melody line, doubling itself during the bridge section. The chord progression is nice in that section, giving a lot of variety to an otherwise simple sounding track. The end of the track fades back into the races/karate lobby theme, for a nice rounded track all together!

This will introduce you to a color you’ve probably never seen before.
True “Cyan”. Usually most people find it an ugly color, or just an ordinary light blue. BUT! Computers and TVs dilute the actual appearance of cyan and when you see it, its fucking awesome.
SO! Stare at the white dot for 2 minutes. Just as long as you can. The circle will get fuzzy and youll start to see a ring forming. Back your head up slowly and look around the edge of the circle.

Cleared of Charges of Setting Off a School Explosion, Florida Honor Student Heads to Space Camp
“The explosion struck a chord with 18-year NASA veteran Homer Hickam, a former lead astronaut training manager for Spacelab, and later for the International Space Station.
In the late 1950s, Hickam had a brush with law enforcement for allegedly starting a forest fire. State police came to his high school and led him and his friends away in handcuffs, but his high school physics professor and school principal came to the rescue, clearing him of wrongdoing.
Back then, schools did not have zero tolerance rules. Kids could make their mistakes without the threat of a criminal record, or serving time in jail.
“I couldn’t let this go without doing something,” Hickam said. “I’m not a lawyer, but I could give her something that would encourage her. I’ve worked closely with the U.S. Space Academy, and so I purchased a scholarship for her.”

“This piece was primarily a trust exercise, in which she told viewers she would not move for six hours no matter what they did to her.  She placed 72 objects one could use in pleasing or destructive ways, ranging from flowers and a feather boa to a knife and a loaded pistol, on a table near her and invited the viewers to use them on her however they wanted.
Initially, Abramović said, viewers were peaceful and timid, but it escalated to violence quickly.  “The experience I learned was that … if you leave decision to the public, you can be killed… I felt really violated: they cut my clothes, stuck rose thorns in my stomach, one person aimed the gun at my head, and another took it away. It created an aggressive atmosphere. After exactly 6 hours, as planned, I stood up and started walking toward the public. Everyone ran away, escaping an actual confrontation.”
This piece revealed something terrible about humanity, similar to what Philip Zimbardo’s Stanford Prison Experiment or Stanley Milgram’s Obedience Experiment, both of which also proved how readily people will harm one another under unusual circumstances.”
This performance showed just how easy it is to dehumanize a person who doesn’t fight back, and is particularly powerful because it defies what we think we know about ourselves. I’m certain the no one reading this believes the people around him/her capable of doing such things to another human being, but this performance proves otherwise.”

this is why performance art is important

So every single person who told me ‘ignore them they’ll go away’ and ‘you can’t let them know they bothered you’ and ‘They’ll stop if they don’t see you react’ and all that bull shit, my entire school career, I want you to look good and hard at this.
I want you to think about what you said.
What you keep saying.
What you are telling your children.
You are making them powerless.

This just breaks my heart so much.

These all exist on Reddit~ one of the most popular social networking sites that has had 34 MILLION UNIQUE VISITORS. Reddit gets around 1.8 billion page views every month. These subreddits are not that unknown either. If you go through the top subreddits on Reddit you will find almost every single one of these within the first 10-20 pages. This is simply something that everyone that uses Reddit, including their own moderating team, turn a blind eye too.
Recently one of the most popular subreddits on Reddit “creepshots” that was dedicated to users taking suggestive pictures of woman without their consent and putting it online without their knowledge was taken down. Users of this subreddit were known for posting pictures of underage girls, a teacher was even fired from taking pictures of his students and posting it on creepshots. This subreddit was deleted by the creator of creepshots because someone was blackmailing him and threatening to expose his identity. It was not taken down by Redditors moderators even after all the media backlash and arrests made that have come from Creepshots.

Obviously, a lot of bad came from creepshots. Was this all really worth leaving it up for? Can we now learn from creepshots that getting like minded people talking about taking advantage of/raping/and even murdering is only going to lead to worse actions and encouragement of individuals to do harm to others.
